Giorgi Ovashvili (Georgia)

Film director, screenwriter, producer

The director, who managed to achieve success with every film he shot and became known abroad in a very short time, studied at the Georgian State University of Cinema and Theater and at the New York Film Academy at Universal Studios in Hollywood. Fame came to him after his first full-length feature film – “The Other Bank”. The film premiered in the “Generation” section of the Berlin Film Festival in 2009 and was awarded more than 50 international awards. The director's sensational second full-length film “Corn Island” further strengthened his position in the world of cinema. This film won the Crystal Globe at Karlovy Vary International Film Festival as well as the Grand Prix “Golden Vine” award at Kinoshock in 2014, and in 2015 took a top prize at the Trieste Film Festival and was shortlisted for the Academy's best foreign-language film in 2015. Ovashvili established his own film production company in 2016, “Wagonnet Films”, in Tbilisi. After shot the next films “Khibula” and “Beautiful Helen”, which premiered at international film festivals. Currently, he is working on “The Moon is a Father of Mine”.

 

 

 

Adila Khaibullina (Russia-Tataristan)

Cinematographer

The film critic, who is known for his film lectures on different topics, organized projects with various organizations and cinemas, teaches the subject “History of Cinema” at the Kazan Theater School. She is a curator of film programs and a regular presenter of film events in the Directorate of Support for Film Projects and Organization of Film Events “It is Cinema Time”, a regular speaker of art exhibitions organized in the “Kinomax” cinema chain in Kazan, and the presenter of the film news column on “Millennium” radio. In different years, she worked as a program director of the International Youth Film Festival, as a member of the selection commission of the Kazan International Muslim Film Festival. Adila Khaibullina, who acted as a member of the jury and expert at international film festivals, was awarded the title of Honored Cultural Worker of the Republic of Tatarstan.

 

 

 

Emrah Kilic (Turkey)

Producer

Emrah Kilic, who is mainly known as the artistic director of Istanbul based Bosphorus Film Festival. He is also involved in the promotion of Turkish cinema abroad and for this purpose organizes Turkish cinema programs, film weeks and stands at the Berlin and Cannes film festivals. He was the founder & administrative coordinator of the cinema magazine “Rabarba,” which was published monthly and published 20 issues. Kilic prepared the books of famous writer and script theorist Robert McKee called Story and Dialogue for publication in Turkish. The first project he was involved in as a producer was realized as a Turkish co-producer in the upcoming project of Oscar-winning Bosnian director Danis Tanovic's latest film A Ten in a Half. This year, he co-produced the Azerbaijani director Hilal Baydarov’s latest film Sermon to the Fish, which awarded in Locarno Film Festival soon.

Alia Dadashova (Azerbaijan)

Critical writer

Alia Dadasheva is one of the authors who directly contributed to the formation of a new direction of Azerbaijani film criticism in the 2000s. After graduating from the theater department of the University of Culture and Arts, he became known for his articles in the country's leading film and culture magazines, such as “Kino+”, “Medaniyat”, “Focus”, “kulis.az”. Participated in Tbilisi International Theater and Tbilisi International Festival of scenography. Translated from the Russian collection of stories by Haruki Murakami and the book by K. Rudnitskogo “Director Meyerhold”. Author of the books “The power of the theater to ask questions”, “Home theme in cinema”, “Death of glamor” and other scientific articles, reviews about cinema and theater.

 

 

 

Rashad Alakbarov (Azerbaijan)

Artist

Rashad Alakbarov graduated from the Faculty of Decorative Arts at Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Art in Baku. He has worked with different media, including painting, sculpture, theatrical decoration, video art and architec¬tural design, but the use of shadows in his installations has become the main direction in the artist's conceptual work. The first public showing of this type of work was at the 'Wings of Time' exhibition in Baku in 2000. His works are held in private collections in Azerbaijan, Turkey, Italy and Russia. Exhibitions of the artist were held in Medina, London, Vienna, Moscow, Berlin, Paris, Venice, Basel, Dresden, Listal. In 2021, he was awarded the honorary title of “Honored Artist”.
